provides a rich opportunity for the visitor to explore, discover, and map their own course
through the expanse of exhibits, video and slide shows, and monthly evening lecture
series.
The Museum presently displays approximately 30 informative
educational exhibits in the Great Hall of Shells.
Among the visitors favorites are:
- GIFTS FROM THE SEAS OF SANIBEL & CAPTIVA... A display of
the most familiar seashells washed ashore on the beaches and in the backwaters of the
islands.
- WORLDWIDE SHELLS... Centerpiece of the Great Hall of
Shells is a six-foot diameter globe of the Earth surrounded by shell exhibits from
various geographic locations.
- THE CHILDREN'S LEARNING LAB... A new play area of discovery,
with hands-on displays and a live tank, offering young visitors a chance to become
familiar with creatures that they don't ordinarily encounter.
